The Permanent University of the University of Alicante starts up the Permanent seminar of Analysis “The senior people and the mass media”, this initiative intends to orient its work towards a future observatory. This seminar will work through work groups formed by senior people.
These groups of investigation and analysis will make a pursuit of the Spanish mediatic reality as far as which it concerns to the treatment of the senior ones by mass media. Data were compiled on the matter, trying, whenever it is possible, to insist in the positive values ; it is not only tried to review the image of the senior one but to reflect on which it contributes the group to the society and is not valued habitually. Before images and stereotypes of negative character, to ask to us towards where it could have directed with the purpose of eliminating this negative.
