Poetic recital: International Day of the Poetry 2017

The international poetry day was proclaimed by the General Conference of the UNESCO and it was celebrated for the first time on the 21st of May  2000. Its aim is to promote the support to the poets, to go back to the enchantment of the orality and reestablish the dialogue between poetry and the rest of arts.

La Marina University Venue presents the theatre play “Caídos del Cielo”

On Saturday 11th of March at 20.00, La Marina University Venue presents the theatre play “Caidos del cielo”, performed by the theatre group of the Permanent University of the University of Alicante. Director: Pascual Carbonell. Text: Paloma Pedrero.

Caídos del Cielo

A theatre group of homeless people is creating through improvisations a play based on themselves. Time is running out, since there is a release date. However, there are many challenges. One night, while Luz tries to solve the script of a scene in her studio without success, Charito, the protagonist of the play, “falls from the sky” to help her out. From that moment on, this teasing spirit will become the muse, and will not only dictate the play to the author, but will also solve the manifold conflicts that will arise with the actors during the rehearsals.

RESULTS OF THE SOLIDARY COLLECTION OF FOOD UA: CHRISTMAS SPECIAL CALL

Our most sincere gratefulness to all the University Community for its special implication on the Monthly Solidary Collection of Food on the UA, on this Christmas special call which took place the past days 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th of December.

A total of 827,54 kg of food and 104,75 units of products of toilet and hygiene have been collected during this campaign of December, with the help of many citizens and members of the University Community belonging to the Alicante Town University Venue, and the centres and faculties of the UA which have joined the initiative promoted by the Values Incubator of the Permanent University of the University of Alicante (UPUA).

As you know this initiative counts with the support of the Deputy Vice-chancellorship  of Social Responsibility, Inclusion and Equality, the Council of Students of the UA, the SSC– Student Support Centre (Deputy Vice-chancellorship  of Students and Employment) and the UPUA (Deputy Vice-chancellorship  of Studies and Formation).

Presentation

Poetry, as indicated by Bousoño, "is communication stablished by mere words of a knowledge of special nature. The psychic knowledge as a particular whole, as intuitive synthesis and only of the conceptual, sensorial and affective".

Nonetheless, we believe the poem sometimes imitate and sometimes expresses what occurs in the being´s soul, consists, furthermore, on a more or less evident flowing of conscious changing states through time.

No surprise Herder said that poetry was the mother tongue of humanity and in consequence, a book of poetry is the conclusion of millennia of search.

We believe, honestly, apart from other considerations than the strictly poetic, that today more than ever, we need men and women who propose passion, opening to the fullness of the unknown, who raise us of so much low flight, of so much fullness illusion in a world without horizons nor dreams, who rescue and propose with encouraging firmness the come back to the utopia, daring to build a world, through the word, the poetry, where freedom is possible, since life does not count the steps you have taken, but the footprints you have left.
