This choral was set up at the beginning of the 2002-03 academic year, following the initiative of the Student Alumni Association of the Universitat Oberta per a Majors (University for Older Adults) and supported by the choral of the University of the Balearic Islands, in order to create space for personal and artistic development for the UOM students. From 2006 the Spring Festival of Chorals has been organized. The choral participates in academic events, forums and cultural events of the archipelago, as well as in national choral competitions.
The director of the choral, Irina Capriles, graduated in music and is adjunct professor at the University of the Balearic Islands and the University Centre Alberta Jiménez. |

Initiated by M. Luisa Obiols Bargalló the choral was set up in 1993 and is formed by 60 singers, all of them members of the Aulas d’Extensió Universitària per a la Gent Gran de Barcelona (University Programme for Older Adults), who are singing and music lovers. Throughout the 2009-10 academic year the choral has given more than 200 concerts in Barcelona and other municipalities of Catalonia. Its repertoire includes pieces of the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical Age, as well as popular Catalonian and Christmas songs and contemporary music. Víctor Frigola Grau is the present director. He studied the recorder, piano, violoncello, singing, direction of chorals and orchestras and is director of several other chorals.

In 2004 this choral arose within the framework of the Senior Association of Students of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Its final consolidation was in 2005 with the participation in academic events of the 2005-06 academic year. Throughout the following years, the number of members and performances at events organized by the Valencia Town Council, the Palau de la Música and in radio broadcasts of the Valencian Community increased. Likewise the choral took part in the programme Viure I Conviure. At the end of 2009, it counts with 38 members and its evolution has been strengthened by the integration of the choral as an academic activity within the Senior programme of the UPV.

The choral has its origin in the 2005-06 academic year within the framework of workshops of the Senior Programme of the UNEX. Right from its beginning it has grown through rehearsals and elemental singing technique exercises to what is the choral nowadays, which interprets polyphonic pieces of some importance. The choral of the University Programme for Older Adults finds itself integrated within the Choral Federation of the Spanish Region Extremadura and participates in the meetings that are held in various municipalities and towns of the Extremadura region. Besides, it performs in formal events of the University of Extremadura. |

LThe choral of the Universidad Permanente of the University of Alicante has as its aim the musical training of its members, creating this way a musical culture in harmony with the other arts, as well as the representation of the UA in numerous academic events and concerts (opening and closing of the academic year, competitions, graduations, concerts in churches, cultural institutions…) counting with a wide repertoire from classic to more popular pieces.
The present director of the choral is Juan Luis Vázquez, who built a long and rigorous musical career. |
