Emphasizing on health education, the Mapfre campaign Con mayor cuidado (with special care) will be presented at the University Venues and Municipalities of the Alicante region.

The Universidad Permanente of the University of Alicante continues with its dissemination and opening to the citizenship, which are the central themes of the 10th anniversary of its foundation. For this purpose, a dissemination campaign on prevention of domestic accidents will take place between March 22nd and 26th in different municipalities of the region. 

This campaign seeks to bring the continuous learning closer to all the elderly persons, independent from where they live. In this occasion, one of the basic lines of the UPUA, the health education, will be stressed: for this purpose, the UPUA collaborates with the Mapfre Foundation, the institution which is responsible for the campaign Con mayor cuidado that was presented successfully to the public in January at the Paraninfo of the University of Alicante.  

The activity will take place in the Cocentaina, La Nucía and Xixona University Venues and in the Municipality Novelda, where the UPUA has offered for several years already, thanks to an agreement with the town council, a series of educational activities for seniors. Benidorm is the municipality where this voyage through the area will finish. With the presentation of this campaign the town council of Benidorm and the University of Alicante initiate a collaboration which will be confirmed signing the specific agreement for the educational and extracurricular actions. 

 

Con mayor cuidado is a campaign with pedagogical and dissemination objectives based on a video reality show in which a senior presents and interacts with various situations. The essence which summarizes the philosophy of the action could be: for a healthy ageing. The event is addressed to older adults and their families, as well as to professionals of any subject related to the health sector and this part of the population. Both the professionals and the other participants will receive various materials adapted to their needs, with key concepts for healthy ageing, latest research results in the field, materials, tools and practical pieces of advice which are easy to apply.
