VALUES DRIVING SENIORS IN THE IV INCUBATOR OF VALUES:

From the IVIncubator of Values of UPUA, we not only support but have been defending and implementing these ideas and proposals collected in the document “Promotion of Social Leadership by Seniors” and share the philosophy according to which seniors themselves must create the spaces, generate the opportunities to head projects and, in short, the change towards a supportive, non-exclusive, intergenerational and sustainable society.
From their generous, responsible and participative attitude, students and partners in this Incubator of Values have been encouraging change for several years now, with the support of a great ally represented by lifelong learning, the knowledge and research provided by the University. At the Permanent University of the University of Alicante, since 2003, the participation in European projects together with the creation of the Association of Students and Alumni of the Permanent University of the University of Alicante (AAUP for its Spanish initials) have given rise to a considerable number of social supportive initiatives which are collected in this communication platform, the IV“Incubator of Values.” Furthermore, it allows us to fulfil the obligation of giving society a real image about who we are –seniors– what our contribution can be and, above all, we make visible the positive image of ageing.
